"BalticSatApps Copernicus User Uptake: Data access and processing, tools and use cases" is a half day training and information session, which will take place on November 9, 2018 in Finnish Meteorological Institute premises. The event includes presentations and demonstrations about the Copernicus programme. The event is aimed at researchers, students and entrepreneurs who would be interested in using Copernicus data and services and also who are not aware of what such data offers. The event is free for everyone, but registration is mandatory.

Questionnaire for collecting potential Copernicus users' needs at national level in Finland is created to collect potential users' needs in Finland. The form has 10 questions and may take up to half an hour to complete. The form is a part of BalticSatApps project (http://balticsatapps.eu). The BalticSatApps project strives to increase the market uptake of open Earth observation satellite data from the European Copernicus programme.

The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service is pleased to announce the upcoming Copernicus Pan European High Resolution Snow and Ice Monitoring Product - User consultation workshop. The workshop is organised by the European Environment Agency who are the Entrusted Entity for the Copernicus Pan European component, and will hosted by the European Commission, DG GROW, on 07 June 2018 from 09:30 to 17:00 in Belgium.

The Finnish Remote Sensing Club organizes yearly a national Remote Sensing conference. This year, the occasion is hosted by Finnish Meteorological Institute and it will take place on May 16-17 2018 in Kumpula, Helsinki. The event gives an overview on latest advances in Finnish remote sensing and provides an inspiring environment for professional networking. The European Commission today launched a €5 million prize to find the best solution for setting up an early warning system for epidemics. It is one of six European Innovation Council (EIC) Horizon Prizes, which are part of the European Innovation Council pilot run under Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation Framework Programme.
